Front Porch Build

The opening took place on Friday 28th June 2019 at 6pm.

January 2019: The build of the new  porch is to start in February 2019.  This entrance lobby will become the main Hall entrance and should provide a pleasant and welcoming way into the Hall, adding a feature to the somewhat bland front elevation. At the same time it will reduce road noise, reduce heat loss and draughts and improve safety by removing the direct exit route from the Hall towards the often busy Ashton Road.

Siddington with Kemble Playgroup

In the Autumn of 2018 we welcomed an established playgroup to the hall they when they moved from their previous home at Kemble Primary School.  The  school required the rooms they were using there due to increasing pupil numbers. Siddington with Kemble Playgroup is administered by the Gloucestershire based PATA organisation and occupy the Committee Room each weekday during term time and make full use of the Hall’s back garden.

Eco-friendly Heating System to heat the Committee Room and other spaces.

Summer 2017: We have just commissioned the installation of a state of the art Air-to-Air Heat Pump based heating system to heat all the spaces at the rear of the Hall – the Committee Room, Kitchen, Toilets and rear Lobby area. This will complement the very effective system installed in the Main Hall last year.

This has only been  possible due to a successful Grant Application to the Local Summerfield Trust who have donated a very generous £6000 towards the purchase and  installation costs. This amounts to approximately 70% of the estimated cost of the system. The balance is to be found from our own fund raising efforts and a portion of the remaining Section 106 agreement funds from the North Hill Road Development.

Installation work is expected to start in early July and will only take a couple of days, so disruption to regular and other bookings should be minimal.

Now complete and operating.
